DEFENDER Rose Delaney has added another string to her bow and led her team to a valuable win along the way.
Delaney was best on court in Nirranda’s 48-36 win over Panmure at Nirranda.
With regular goal keeper Callen Bourke missing the game, Delaney moved from her normal posting at goal defence to fill the void left by Bourke.
It was a successful tranistion as she teamed well with Georgia Haberfield at wing defence to give the Blues a winning edge.
Nirranda coach Anna Murnane said she was thrilled with the way her team fought out such a tight contest.
“We were a couple of goals up at quarter time and then they came back and leveled the score and the game was still in the balance at three-quarter-time,” Murnane said.
“But the girls played well for the whole game and we were able to keep going and finish it off in the last quarter.
“We are just going out there trying to win every time we play and if we make finals that is a bonus.”
The Blues are seventh, just one game from the top five.
